There are ten styles of gray Victor multiparts: M-2140, M-2430, M-2618A, M-2902, M-3451, M-3490, M-4321, M-4325, M-4338, and M-4800.  No specimens have been located of M-4800.  The gray Victor M-4800 was the primary insulator used on the Kern River line in southern California.  The only part of one that has been reported is the small inner skirt.  It survived for many decades seeing service as a door stop.

Left is the center 4th skirt of a Victor M-4800.  Note the bluish-gray glaze.  Unfortunately you cannot see the millions of tiny blue specs in the glaze.

M-2140 VICTOR (left) and unmarked M-2140 (right).  The unmarked style has a smooth, uniform greenish-gray glaze is much harder to find.  The VICTOR marked one has a greenish-gray glaze with many dark blue specs.

This is the only know gray M-2430 and it is in Bill Rohde's collection.  You should be able to see the insulator logo marking with VICTOR R=oo on the top skirt.

This is M-2618A with matching gray pin base and steel pin with wood cob.  The color is greenish-gray with dark blue specks.   Some were found near Portland, OR.

M-2902 VICTOR with bluish-gray glaze.  These were found only on the Paul Smith line in New York.  The line has been thoroughly searched and only eight reported.  The lily-shell bottom skirt appears too small.

A number of these gray VICTOR M-3490's were found near Price, UT by Mike Bliss.  Some had greenish-gray glazes and others had pretty bluish-gray glazes.  This is evidence that either the glaze formula was not consistent or a variable firing temperature contributed to the glaze color differences.

On the left is M-4321 with insulator logo marking VICTOR R=oo.  The color is a uniform slightly bluish-gray with drippy mottling on top.  On the right is M-4325 with VICTOR marking on the short 2nd skirt and on the lily-shell 3rd skirt. The color is bluish-gray with lots of dark blue specs and some mottling.
